Botox

Botox for TMJ, Bruxism and Tooth Wear

Traditionally, TMJ treatment options have included dental appliances, physical therapy, acupuncture or medications. While these methods can be effective, some patients are not candidates or these procedures are insufficient. Botox offers a minimally invasive, non-surgical approach to alleviating TMJ-related discomfort and tooth wear.

Botox, a purified form of botulinum toxin, is injected into specific jaw muscles which cause clenching. It works to temporarily relax and shrink the muscles, reducing tension and the harmful effects of grinding and clenching which causes tooth wear and fracture.
